Can I get a Heiwa Japanese Head Spa Treatment if I have hair extensions?

Unfortunately, due to the oils and pressure techniques we use, this treatment is not suitable for people with hair extensions.

How long will my Heiwa Head Spa Treatment take?

Including a consultation review, the session usually takes between one hour 15 minutes, and two hours, depending on your choice of treatment.

How often should I have a Heiwa Head Spa Treatment?

Heiwa Head Spa Treatments contribute to a healthy scalp, and should be carried out at least once a month to achieve healthy hair. However, if you require a treatment each week, that’s fine too.

What should I expect during my Heiwa Head Spa Treatment?

You’ll enjoy a variety of massage techniques during the treatment, including neck and shoulder massage, which boost circulation and relax the muscles in your head, neck, and shoulders. These techniques also aid nutrient absorption for your scalp. You'll receive a series of scalp massages, both with the therapist’s expert hand techniques, and using traditional tools. If you require a hair trim and style, this can be done after your scalp treatment.

How should I continue to look after my hair following my first Head Spa Treatment?

After your treatment, we advise that you avoid washing your hair for at least 24 hours. This will allow the oils and nutrients applied during the session to continue working on your scalp and hair. If you want to wash your hair sooner, though, that’s fine.

When shall I make my next appointment, to keep my hair in tip top condition?

Regular visits to the Head Spa, about once a month, will help maintain scalp health and hair vitality. Depending on your scalp’s condition, your therapist may recommend a more tailored schedule.

What if my scalp is sensitive?

If you have a sensitive scalp, please let your therapist know beforehand, so that they can adjust the pressure and products used, to ensure you have a comfortable treatment.

What results can I expect after my first Head Spa session?

After your first session, you can expect your scalp to feel cleaner, your hair to look shinier, and to feel very relaxed.

We understand that healthy hair starts at the roots, and our specialised treatments, including head massages, are designed to nourish, rejuvenate, and bring out the best in your hair.  Through thorough cleansing, the treatment eliminates accumulated oils, dead skin cells, and residues of hair products, providing a pristine environment for hair follicles.

Cancellations & rescheduled appointments

We understand that plans can change, and clients may cancel or reschedule their appointments up to 48 hours in advance. However, if cancellations or rescheduling requests are made after this 48-hour period, the 50% deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellations or rescheduling within the 48-hour window must be done through the link provided in the appointment confirmation email. Please note that we do not accept cancellations or rescheduling requests through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, or Google.

Booking & arrival

Clients must ensure that they complete and return the online consultation form when making their appointment. This allows us to fully understand each client’s needs and preferences.

To ensure we provide the best possible service, clients are required to arrive at least ten minutes before their scheduled appointment time, so that they can review the consultation form with their therapist. Once all the details have been confirmed, the therapist will ask the client to sign the form if they’re happy to proceed.

This is a one-to-one spa, so clients are asked to come alone.

We totally respect the privacy of our clients. However, we also need to protect ourselves and our clients. For this reason, a security camera is in operation, to ensure everyone’s safety during treatments.

Arriving late

We understand that delays can happen. However, if a client arrives late, their service time will be adjusted to fit within their originally scheduled time slot. This ensures that our schedule remains on track for all clients. If a client arrives more than 15 minutes late, their appointment will be considered a ‘no-show’, due to the limited time available to provide a complete, high-quality service.

Safety and comfort

To ensure the well-being of our clients, we have a 137 kg (300 pound) weight limit for our services. Our staff reserves the right to refuse a service if we believe it may compromise a client’s safety or comfort. This policy helps us to maintain the highest standards of care, and to ensure that our equipment and facilities are used safely and effectively.

Health and Safety

If a client has a condition or ailment that could impact their health and safety during the treatment (for example, pregnancy or epilepsy), we will require a doctor’s note confirming that it is safe for them to have a Japanese Head Spa Treatment.
